Waldo gots nothin on Grandpa

Word to the wise, don't let the the goofball behind the counter at Lowe's paint desk talk you out of getting a primer when you think you need it. Two coats of orange and Noah's Ark is still sailing on the walls. Fortunately after our red room fiasco we were smart enough to put down the rollers and go get the primer. Sooo, 2 coats of white, 2 coats of grey primer, and 2 coats of orange later, the baby room is beginning to take shape.

After we got all the paint on the walls, Grandpa Cous dropped by to check things out and play a quick game of "Where's Cousino?".

We stopped by the Pottery Barn outlet in Jeffersonville this past weekend and picked up a few more items for the nursery. We'll be installing some shades, hanging some pictures, and putting the chair rail up this week.

Nursery Theme Selected

Steph and I spent the better part of yesterday looking at cribs and stollers and pack-n-plays and blah blah blah. We've narrowed down the crib options and eliminated the crazy Kittles lady that tried to sell us a $900 crib...

We found this doggy themed bedding set for the crib that we don't have and have begun remodeling the soon to be nursery. Below the blanky is the "before nursery shot". Leaves a little something to be desired.

Also, while we were cleaning up from painting today, I decided a game of soccer between Gus and myself was in order. I fell and landed in some of his poop. Not really baby related, but I figured everybody would get a kick out of it.

Baby Cous is a Boy!!

Last week we went back to the Dr. to hopefully find out the sex of the baby at our second ultrasound. As soon as the technician had the wand on Steph's belly, she said she knew what it was. Shortly after that, she had a pretty good image on the screen for us to see confirming that it is going to be a boy! Just below the "B" in "BOY" is his pee wee. The hump to the right is his belly, and his leg is extended to the left. Booty facing down.

Also, they took a bunch of measurements and apparently he takes after his dad and grandpa and has a large head. because of this, Steph's due date is now October 10th.

Steph's nasea has passed for the most part, and she has a lot more energy than she did during the first few months. She needs to eat all the time and gets a bit testy if food isn't provided at the drop of a hat. Her belly is also starting to pop out. Just last week she woke up and overnight, none of her pants fit. She was a bit flustered, and we've been out shopping for maternity clothes several times.

So far, everything is going great. Mommy is doing very well, and the Dr. says the nameless baby is great as well. Steph and I need to get on that name thing though. We have a little bit of time right???

Here are a few more ultrasound pics...

Emily's Announcement!

Our niece Emily is in first grade and wrote the following comments about our future addition in her journal at school...

Baby Countdown Begins T minus 219 Days

Steph and I have been quietly trying since the end of September. February 10th, she took a test that came up positive. We continued to keep things quiet until we could get in to the doctor for confirmation. After that visit (on Feb 28th), we got her due date (Oct. 16th), the word is out and here is the first picture of Baby Cous. Looks pretty much like a blur to me. Maybe that means he'll be fast like a marsupial. By the way, I'll be using "he" for the baby because "it" just sounds weird.
Steph has been doing okay, but she is very tired. There is a nice pic of her returning from her new favorite pasttime to the left. She is generally nauseous when she gets up in the morning, and in the evenings, but we have yet to see the second round of any of her meals. She hasn't really had any strange cravings yet, but she wants Subway more than usual (which is pretty good for me. The downside is Mexican makes her stomach turn (not so great for me).
